Tournament Handicapping Meeting: It has been decided to make this meeting open to anyone who would like to attend. It is on Sunday 17th June at 10am. If you would like to attend, please text Alan Prince on the number in the handbook.

The World Cup & England's Match on Monday the 18th: Rumour has it that some men will be thinking of missing tennis and going to their local large screen watering hole. Who would ever think such a thing? However, it was decided by the Committee at Friday's Meeting that if both teams were in complete agreement, then the match could be played in advance of the fixture, say Friday night or over the weekend. If either team had problems with this, then it must be played on the Monday as usual.

Permanent A team players: Secretaries of multi-team clubs should by now have determined exactly who their permanent A players are that played on a regular basis in two of the first four matches. It would appear that a small number of clubs have not completely got their act together. Perhaps you need to encourage your Secretary. The men's A team should have three. The mixed and the juniors should have two males and two females and if a club has two teams in Division One then these numbers are increased by one extra. These are all shown in the Special Status column of a club's registered players.

Return of Trophies: Further to last year's AGM, all Club Secretaries have been provided with a private link to a page which displays all the trophies attached to that club. It is thought that a public link to the whole world would not be desirable. You will know if you are in possession of a trophy, so why not make it easy for you Club Secretary by returning them as soon as you can, unless they have given you other instructions. The deadline for return to the Trophy Secretary is 1st August. He will not be available to accept them between 11th and 16th July. You can also leave them at Markland Hill during the Bolton Tournament. Bernard Smith's landline is in the handbook and his mobile is: 07763 182546. Let’s see if we can’t make the job easier than last year.

The Website Database: There have been a couple of blips with the database going offline. If you find it has, please text me on the number in the handbook so I can report it straight away, as if you email it could be hours before I see it. These include, the results pages, the tables, lists of club players, attempt to register someone did not work. The webmaster was investigating the situation earlier today.

Online Card Entry: A discussion took place at the meeting and it was mentioned that the mixed are more difficult to do during a match. True, I have only done men's. However, I am new to this phone entry business. I made the mistake of bringing the form up and completing it and then backing out which destroyed the form entries and I had to start again. I found out that it is better to complete the form as far as possible and then switch to another application such as texting. On mine its the bottom left hand corner. Then when you come to just enter the results bring it back. Confirm with the opposition and submit.

Should any of you have not got the links from your Club Secretary and wish to have a go, email me with name and club and I will forward the link you want, i.e. men's , mixed, junior. IPad/computer or phone layout.
